My Concept

I have created a sculptural platform that extends out from in front of the boat sheds at Oriental Parade. It is a public space for people to walk on and interact with in order to be a part of the view.
You are able to walk along it as well as interact with it by swimming under it. There are tubes under the sea level that can be swum through. It is a playful place to go and relax in the city. This design is great for all ages to enjoy and is best used on a nice day when you can take in the beautiful Wellington Views.
This structure is made from concrete with Timber features along most components.
It is made for you to be a part of the view instead of being on the shore looking out towards it. The high viewing platform at the end also provides a 360 degree view of the city. The platform is not very big and overpowering in order to not take away from the existing views and environment. I have tried to keep the design simple and elegant with an aspect of fun and creativity to it with the curved shapes.

Using the Boat Sheds

I drew up a rough plan of a space in the boat sheds that could be used as a bathroom with toilet and shower, changing space and lockers for keeping personal items safe. I am not sure if I like the idea yet and unfortunately don't have enough time to follow through with the design as much as I would like. I am just going to focus on The platform.
